I had a long weekend playing WOW. I farmed a lot of herbs in anticipation on patch 3.3 hitting this week. I farmed herb, because my main method of earning gold is farming herb, and selling flasks. I do a lot of "side" jobs (see the "flipping" post below). It's good to diversify. Spending all your time doing any one thing is bad. Not only would I go nuts if all I did was farm and flask, but the flask market can only take so much. Every Flask I put on the AH lowers the value of all other flasks.
The more supply, with a constant demand: it isn't reasonable to assume anything other then the price for flasks to go down. So the prices went down, it's a good thing I'm diversified.
I only deal with Flasks of "Endless Rage", and "Of the Frost Wyrm". Stoneblood and Mojo are a waste of Frost Lotus. When I mention "Flasks" I am only referring to Rage, and Frost Wyrm. When I started to heavily "farm and flask" two months ago, the price for flasks was steady at around 30g. The price over the last few weeks has tanked down to 20g. Not fun, and almost not worth my time. The price of Frost Lotus went down from 38g, to 33g. Normally when the bottom drops on the flask market I just put my mats up for sale. This time, I've horded them for the patch. I'm not a fan of hording, I'd much rather have empty bags and no risk, rather then a bag full of mats which may or may not sell for more then I could sell them now for.
