After dropping herbalism I've finished leveling mining on my main (paladin 450 min/alc). I'm sad to see herbalism go because I did make a lot of gold farming herb and turning flasks. I only farmed for an hour per day, which usually gave me 5 frost lotus, which yielded about 10-14 flasks (elixir spec). Selling for around 28g per flask. 228g-392g per hour. Not bad, but not great. I'm making about half that from farming, and half from Alchemy. So I decided to just drop the farming. I'll buy the mats off the AH when they are cheep, and that's it. Right now my servers price on flasks is all over the place, and when the price drops to 20g, my profit goes way down. Good thing I'm diversified, so I still continue to make gold doing other things.
Right now I have three characters capable of crafting Titansteel bars. I will be making three per day. This will make some pretty good gold on it's own. Along with my transmute for an epic gem, and selling a dragon's eye from the daily jewelcrafting quest, and the cloth C I should be making 500-750g per day just doing cooldowns.
Right now I'm back to 33k gold. I've been really slow lately earning gold. I'm spending way too much enchating/gemming new gear for my main and alts, and I'm spending almost no time earning gold because I'm always playing. On the good side I have gained 2k gold and not lost any in the past few weeks due to all my enchants/gems. I'm still on the up and up. Once I have stopped getting new gear I'm sure I'll be earning and keeping 1-2k per day.
