3.3 hit this past week and it is the best patch yet. The Dungeon Finder tool is amazing. Profits are amazing. Prior to the patch I was at 32k (down from 35k after buying some Saronite Swordbreakers). My goal before the weekend was to get back to 35k. I ran all the way up to 37k. I then bought a Breastplate of the White Knight for about 4k. I also have spent a ton of enchants/epic gems for all the gear I've got. I'm down to 32k again.
Saronite ore -> Titanium. Worked very well. For the first couple of days the price in titanium didn't drop. I sold most of my stockpile at 30-35g a piece. Eventually people caught on and now titanium goes for 18-25g. Still a good profit margin. Unexpectedly the price of Saronite ore hasn't moved. I'd imagine all the demand would drive prices up, but I guess the farmers just have so much in reserve it didn't make a difference. I'm through my Ore stockpile of 1000 and I purchased another 1000 and that's all sold now too. I made a ton off just converting ore, to bars, to titanium bars. WHO THE F**K IS USING ALL THESE TITANIUM BARS?!?!?!?
I told my guild about my scam, and now they are sending me bars to transmute. The AH has become silly with titanium and it needs to end soon because I don't know where all this titanium goes. Three per day to make titansteel, okay. What about the rest? It is still at 18g per bar at it's lowest. I'll keep making it until people stop buying.
Another major payoff was flasks, I sold a TON of flasks patch day. The week was ripe with undercutting. The demand was high, but the supply was higher. I had to post only a few at a time as to not catch the eye of under cutters who will remove their entire stock and repost if there is more then a few items between them and the top of the list. It worked.
My major money maker has been herb farming and flasks, sadly I'm giving up herbalism to take up mining on my main. I want the stamina buff. I will grab herbalism on an alt however, it might be a while. I'm having so much fun with 3.3 I don't even bother farming right now.

I guess the thing with Saronite bars is that all the goblins on a server knew about the change in advance and stocked up on Saronite bars (and Frost Lotus, for that matter). That is a fact, I talked with the best-known AH camper on our server, and that unmentionable blog thing (the one with Scripts) talked about it as well; you know the signal strength of that.
ReplyDeleteSo now, the demand has risen, but the supply is so high that prices stay roughly the same.
I wonder what will happen to Saronite in a few week's time. Frost Lotus will probably remain the same, as the demand for Flasks might drop a bit when the top guilds are even-better-geared.
True, as of now a half month after the patch saronite ore has gone up to 20g a stack. Good news is that you can easily find farmers who will skip the AH and sell for 15g a stack. Just watch /trade.
