Why bother hording fake gold? Well the gold is fake, but my enjoyment inside an MMO is very real. I enjoy lots of aspects of WoW. I mostly enjoy end game PVE. As we all know endgame PVE requires the best enchants, gems, gear, etc. I’ve played this game far too long as a penny-less scrub. I was always grinding daily quests to get enough gold for some lame enchant, which was never the best enchant available. No more I say. I’m hording gold to increase my enjoyment, and worry not about enchants, gems, and glyphs. I also have a secondary reason.
WoW PVE gets boring as hell sometimes, and I’ve noticed I actually enjoy playing AH games. I enjoy crafting, and gathering (at times). I really like finding good deals on mats, and hording them until it is a good time to sell them back, or turn them into flasks, gear, or enchants. Ya see I have four level 80’s, and they all have maxed out professions finally. I spent a lot of time, and TONS of gold leveling them all. It is time for some payback. There is one last reason for my hording, and it’s not instinctual behavior passed down from ancestors that probably resembled more of a squirrel than a human.
Cataclysm is coming. I want to be well prepared for all the new gear. I’ve never really had a lot of gold, and it always held me back from really min/maxing my character. At level 85 I’m shooting for the best of the best in everything. This will most likely be the last WOW expansion that I’ll be excited about. I’m starting a family soon and I probably won’t have a lot of time after Cataclysm. I’m going to enjoy fully, while I can.
Lastly, there are lots of ways to earn gold while not taking up a large portion of your time. I only mess around with the farming, the ah, or trading for about an hour per day. Sometimes a lot less, sometimes a little more. For the small time investment, you get a big return. Much better then grinding dailys, or farming ore, or killing hogger over and over.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just like reading blogs where the spelling and grammar are good. (if only Tobold would use "less" and "fewer" properly... ;) I've bookmarked this blog; interesting subject.
Ok, this post will be about more than spelling.
I don't have an addon to tell me how much gold I've made, but in the statistics section the game says I've made around 30k so far. That is primarily from selling Scrolls of Enchant in October and November 2009. I've unsubbed for December. Toward the end of November scrolls started to drop in price; more people realizing it was a viable market, I guess (I'm on a medium population, old Normal realm). I prefer higher-price, lower-volume items, as it takes less time to post. Scrolls have no listing fee, which helps.
